Pros:
Windows Mobile phone.
(I installed Google maps on it.With the proxy settings, I was able to access it and use it perfectly.I was able to also connect google maps to a bluetooth GPS device to use my Dash as a GPS.,I also installed Dash weather where I can constantly check up on the weather from any place in America.It had a radar and other fun features.Also I installed Pocket Super nintendo in which I can play some classical oldies.Set up was a breeze and I enjoyed playing Super Mario and flaunting my phone to anyone.)

Big Screen,
(The big screen allowed me to watch movies in landscape mode.I installed TCPMP(windows mobile app) and I was able to watch movies in most formats (3gp,avi,mpeg,etc) with this program in full screen.The screen’s quality was very impressive as I sat back and enjoyed watching some interesting things I put up on it.)
loud speaker,
(The speaker was loud enough for me to use this phone outside.When I’m outside,I never missed a call with this phone;as a matter of fact,I didn’t even need to put the volume on its highest setting to hear the phone.)

QWERTY keyboard on smartphone,
(The QWERTY keyboard was only a plus when texting or going online.I was able to enjoy my phone even more with the simplicity of the keyboard.A feature I was quite fond of was where I wouldn’t need to press “Alt” to access the symbols on the keyboard like most phones are.I simply hold the button for longer and poof!, I get an exclamation point without pressing anything extra;this feature came in handy once in a while.Although the keys are jammed together,they were actually not that hard to use;it did take some getting used to though.)

WiFi,
(WiFi on this phone was very nice.I was able to connect to a router without trouble and surf any website on it without it disconnecting.What I particularly liked about this Wifi,was that it gave me a list of routers of which I could choose,furthermore,it said if it was protected or not,which is a plus.)

No buttons the side,except volume,
(This is good for holding the phone,with a program called Jogger,you can disable the side keys and make this phone that much better to hold and use.)

Memory card accessible without removing battery ,
(Most phones make you remove the battery to remove or put in the memory card.The Dash however,lets you remove memory cards by simply removing the battery cover and swapping them.)

Very thin for a smart phone,
(This phone was very thin and very comfortable in my hands.It did not slip out of my hands I really enjoyed holding it to use it.)

Bluetooth compatible with A2DP,
( I used my own blue tooth ,but having this feature is very nice!)

QUAD Band,
(I was able to unlock this phone and use it with different providers without coverage problems,a plus!)

Internet Explorer,
(This Internet Explorer is very nice to use.Not only can it go on most websites(Myspace included),but it can also have a desktop view,just like you see it on your computer.The EDGE T-Mobile had was very nice to have and use.The internet isn’t the fastest,but it’s pretty fast for a phone.)
Improved COMM manager
(With the improved COMM manager,you can basically turn on and off any wireless feature on this phone.This is a plus because with a push of a button,you don’t need to search through millions of settings to turn something on.)

Now the SoSo’s/Cons.
Windows Mobile phone,(lol)(Windows Phones aren’t the most stable.They are nice,but still have their problems.For example,when closing a program,the program still doesn’t end.You have to go to task manager and end it there.Although this is annoying,it also makes the phone work much faster without freezing.)

Camera,
(The camera lags and is slow to react.The quality isn’t the best for a 1.3 megapixel,but it passes.I was able to take some nice pictures with this phone,but I liked my RAZR camera better.)
Call quality,
(Call quality is something I could complain about.The volume is too low on the phone.I need to plug in the headphones to hear the other person clearly.The headphones are very loud though.The volume buttons are pressed a lot by my face when I am talking,even when they’re deactivated.)
Battery for calling isn’t the greatest,
(The battery for talking lasts about 3 hours.I really was annoyed talking on the phone ,since I charged it,saying it had a low battery.Getting an extended battery should help,but I wasn’t too pleased with this battery.)

the volume strip is annoying when I’m on a call,it changes by just a touch,so when I am holding the phone,it goes lower.
(The volume strip,not only doesn’t work to its full potential,but it also has a mind of its own.Touching it makes it choose which volume it wants,ON ITS OWN!I recommend disabling this feature.)

Not that good for TXT use,a bit slow in my opinion to type something,
(Although,I did say that I liked the keyboard,I did find myself making a lot of mistakes.I have big fingers and I saw that I was pressing on the wrong button a number of times.)

All in all,this is a very good phone.I enjoyed using it and didn’t get bored of it so quickly as I usually do of phones.I liked the thinness of it and the durability of it.I also liked that it turned heads;this phone is a keeper for anyone wanting it for light use e.g. music,video,calling internet,;or heavy duty use e.g. using it to its fullest potential,i.e.Mobile Excel,Calendar,Power point,Etc.
I highly recommend this phone for anyone’s needs.It’s easy to use,not bad on the eyes and a pleasure to use.

While you might sit back and feel that the iPhone’s features are so user friendly that anyone could have done it, you might see some of the irony in that statement.

If the iPhone was so simple to use, why hadn’t one of the other major telco’s already instituted features like an intelligent keypad, computing intelligence smart enough to adjust the LCD display’s brightness in response to environmental lighting, or the disabling of the keypad when it is brought close to your face already?

While it’s competitors seem to be constantly struggling to add more features to its digital music players and computers, trying to outdo each other, this seems like an exercise in significantly upping the whizz-bang factor of its devices.

Instead Apple goes the opposite route and looks for the simplest solution to any design or technical challenge.

There is an elegance in simple solutions, and its the user friendly nature of the Apple iPod and soon the Apple iPhone which will likely bring this category of smartphones into the mass market.

Many complain that existing smartphones are perhaps a little too smart for their own good, with menus buried under more menus, and users struggling to make simple changes to their phones.

The iPhone looks set to change that trend and if it succeeds in doing so, it would have blazed yet another trail on the technology landscape.

Verdict: The Xperia X1 is kind of a mixed bag. For every good thing the phone does, there seems to be something detracting from it as well. From a hardware standpoint, this is a well built phone that feels extremely solid in the hand as opposite to sleek and soft looks of SE. But at the same time, it’s not exactly the lightest or slimmest phone available (even for a slider). The 528MHz Processor and 256MB RAM also give the X1 enough processing speed to cover almost all day to day applications. I still remember the P2 PC at my uncle’s place that had same processing speed.

Xperia X1 isn’t quite up to snuff with the top smartphones in the market from an overall standpoint. Whether you’re talking about its $800 price tag, stylus-based resistive touchscreen or 3.2 MP camera, this is a phone that would have fared better amongst early adopters a year or two ago but not for now with killing features of new Iphone and HTC its not a better match. This is not to say the Xperia X1 is a bad phone—on the contrary, it’s a very respectable piece of hardware. It’s just not good enough to justify the cost when better, cheaper phones are available round the market. Sure we can expect price drop so hold on your breaths.
